Peiman Shahbeigi-Roodposhti is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Connecticut. He received his undergraduate with honors degree from Isfahan University of Technology, Iran and a Ph.D. from the North Carolina State University.
Dr. Shahbeigi-Roodposhti’s research is aimed to understand the mechanical behavior of nanomaterials at elevated temperatures. His recent achievement uncovered the role of oxygen contamination in high temperature stability of nanograin-size Iron-based alloys. Fracture analysis, creep and fatigue behavior of materials, thermal fatigue and thermal barrier coatings are also part of his research interest.
Dr. Shahbeigi-Roodposhti spends two years on finding the correlation between intermetallic phase formations, high temperature stability of nanomaterials and mechanical properties of nanomaterials as postdoctoral research scholar at UConn, where he was recruited as faculty in 2017. His research program encompasses advanced characterization techniques to improve stabilization mechanisms of nano-crystalline materials at elevated temperatures.
