Trim Lajqi is a PostDoc in the Department of Neonatology, Heidelberg University Children's Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany. He received his Master (Magister) Degree in the field of Pharmacy (MagPharm) in the University of Pristina and then in 2019 finished his Ph.D. Degree in Molecular Biomedicine in the Medicine Faculty of Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena in Jena, Germany. He developed his interest studying signaling pathways in the pathogen-recognition by the innate immune cells, especially long-term inflammatory responses of microglial cells and neutrophils mediated mainly by different metabolic routes and epigenetic changes.
Furthermore previously Dr. Lajqi was a visiting scientist (2013 to 2015) in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology (Institute of Pharmacy) in the Free University of Berlin in Berlin, Germany, a project funded by the Erasmus Mundus program. Then in 2015 before starting his Ph.D. Degree he participated in the Jena Summer School for Molecular Medicine and finished it successfully. Furthermore in 2018 the German Research Foundation (DFG) Project RTG1715 after 3-year mandatory participation in the advanced research training sessions awarded him the certificate of successful completion.
Dr. Lajqi has a great passion for science within the strong interest explaining long-term adaptive responses of the innate immune cells, microglia and neutrophils, and their effects in different inflammatory diseases.
