Krzysztof Skowronek is Head of the Core Facility at International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB) in Warsaw, Poland. He graduated at Institute of Microbiology, University of Warsaw.
Dr. Skowronek worked as a postdoc or staff scientist in several scientific institutions in Poland (Institute of Microbiology of University of Warsaw, Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, IIMCB) and USA (University of Pennsylvania, Henry Ford Hospital, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory) on very diverse projects (molecular evolution of Haemophilus bacteriophages, DNA bending, force generation by kinesins, DSB repair by homologous recombination in eukaryotic cells, protein production in structural genomics project) gaining experience in big variety of techniques of molecular biology, protein biochemistry and molecular biophysics.
He was a leader of several scientific projects concentrating on molecular biology of Haemophilus phages, mechanisms of sequence recognition by endonucleases and engineering of sequence specificity of selected enzymes from this group. He is a member of European networks CTLS and ARBRE-MOBIEU.
