Marina Cunquero is currently pursuing a PhD under the supervision of Dr. Pablo Loza Alvarez at ICFO, the Institute of Photonic Sciences (Spain). Her doctoral studies are focused primarily on the development of new therapies for visual disorders through the understanding of the initial phases of visual perception occurring at the retina level, by further adapting advanced imaging tools to study the neural activity of the living retina. In particular, she uses imaging techniques to cover all the avenues for visualizing the retinal activity ex vivo and in vivo, and from one single plane perspective to the full depth of the tissue.
Marina Cunquero holds a BSc degree in Microbiology from Autonoma de Barcelona University (Spain, 2013) and a MSc in Clinical Analysis Laboratory from Pompeu Fabra University (Spain, 2014) with +4 year experience with advanced optical microscopy.
