Liangxu Xie is Associate Professor at Institute of Bioinformatics and Medical Engineering, School of Electrical and Information Engineering, Jiangsu University of Technology. He earned B.Sc. degree from National Base of Chemistry, Shandong University in 2011. Then he received his Ph.D. degree in 2016 from the University of Hong Kong with the supervision of Prof. Hao Hu. From 2016 to 2017, he worked as Research Assistant in the group of Prof. Kwong-Yu Chan at the University of Hong Kong. From 2017 to 2018, he joined the group of Prof. Xuhui Huang as Research Associate with the research on free energy calculations and deep learning in drug discovery at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He was appointed as Zhong-Wu Specially Appointed Professor in 2019 at Jiangsu University of Technology.
His research interest focuses on exploring the underlying mechanism of biological systems, including enzymatic reaction and protein conformational transformation processes. Computer simulations complement experiments and provide mechanistic insights for a range of complex processes. Recently, he is devoted to combining QM/MM molecular dynamics simulations, enhanced sampling methods, free energy calculation, and deep learning methods together to aid material and drug design.
