Le caractère hétérogène de types de cellules dans les testicules et l&#39;absence de modèles de culture cellulaire méiotique ont été des obstacles importants à l&#39;étude de la différenciation des programmes uniques qui se manifestent lors de la méiose. Cette méthode fournit un instantané global de l&#39;ensemble du processus méiotique et permet de purifier les cellules viables hautement de la plupart des étapes de la méiose.
