Bu tür sıçan H-1PV ve MVM olarak Kemirgen parvoviruses (PV), küçük icosahedral, tek sarmallı DNA virüsleri vardır. Genom, sırasıyla 1, yapısal olmayan (NS1 ve NS2) ve kapsid proteinler (VP1 ve VP2) ile ifade düzenleyen iki arttırıcılar ve P4 P38 içerir.
