링커 히스톤 H1 높은 순서 구조로 염색질의 접이식 촉진, nucleosome 핵심 입자와 링커 DNA에 바인딩합니다. H1은 포유류의 개발 1 필수적이며, 생체내 2-4 특정 유전자 발현을 조절. 고도 보존 히스톤 단백질 중에서 H1의 링커 histones의 가족은 가장 이질적인 그룹입니다. differentially 개발되는 동안 서로 다른 세포 유형의 규제 포유류 11 H1의 subtypes가 있습니다. 이러한 H1의 subtypes 5 체세포 H1s (H1a-E), 교체 H1 0, 4 배아 세포 특정 H1의 subtypes 및 H1x 5 포함되어 있습니다.
