Катаракта является ведущей причиной слепоты в мире 1. Всемирная организация здравоохранения определяет катаракты, помутнение хрусталика глаза, который препятствует передаче света. Катаракта является многофакторное заболевание, связанное с сахарным диабетом, курением, ультрафиолетовым излучением (УФО), алкоголь, ионизирующая радиация, стероиды и гипертонии. Существует сильная экспериментальная 2-4 и эпидемиологических данных 5,6, что ультрафиолетовое излучение вызывает катаракту. Мы разработали модель животных для UVR B индуцированной катаракты в обоих наркозом 7 и без анестезии животных 8. Единственное лекарство от катаракты является операция, но это лечение не является доступным для всех. Было подсчитано, что задержка наступления катаракты в течение 10 лет может уменьшить необходимость для хирургии катаракты на 50% 9. Чтобы задержать заболеваемости катарактой, это необходимо для понимания механизмов формирования катаракты и найти эффективную стратегию профилактикигий. Среди механизмов развития катаракты, апоптоз играет важную роль в инициировании катаракты у человека и животных 10. В центре нашего внимания в последнее время апоптоза в объектив, как механизм для развития катаракты 8,11,12. Предполагается, что лучшее понимание влияния ультрафиолетового излучения на пути апоптоза обеспечит возможности для открытия новых фармацевтических препаратов, чтобы предотвратить катаракту. В этой статье мы расскажем, как катаракта может быть экспериментально индуцированной в естественных условиях воздействия УФО-B. Далее RT-PCR и иммуногистохимии представлены как инструменты для изучения молекулярных механизмов УВР-B индуцированной катаракты.
