Wir beschreiben die schnelle Isolierung von primären murinen Typ II Alveolarepithelzellen (AECII) mittels Durchflusszytometrie negative Selektion. Diese AECII zeigen eine hohe Rentabilität und Reinheit und sind für ein breites Spektrum von funktionellen und molekularen Untersuchungen hinsichtlich ihrer Rolle bei der respiratorischen Erkrankungen wie Autoimmun-und Infektionskrankheiten geeignet.
