Dans le système olfactif des insectes, agents odorants sont transduites par les neurones récepteurs olfactifs (ORN) à l&#39;antenne, qui convertit les stimuli chimiques dans des trains de potentiels d&#39;action. La stimulation sensorielle des ORNs est ensuite relayée à l&#39;lobe antennaire (AL; une structure analogue au bulbe olfactif des vertébrés). Dans l&#39;AL, représentations neuronales des odeurs prendre la forme de schémas spatio-temporels de tir répartis dans des ensembles de neurones principaux (PNS; aussi appelé neurones de projection) 2,3. La sortie AL est ensuite traitée par des cellules de Kenyon (KCS) dans le corps de champignon aval (MB), une structure associée à la mémoire et de l&#39;apprentissage olfactif 4,5. Sone, nous présentons les techniques d&#39;enregistrement électrophysiologiques pour contrôler les odeurs évoquées réponses neuronales dans ces circuits olfactifs. Tout d&#39;abord, nous présentons une méthode unique d&#39;enregistrement sensille pour étudier les odeurs réponses évoquées au niveau des populations de ORNs 6,7. Nous discutons de l&#39;utilisation de pipettes en verre remplis de solution saline aiguisés comme des électrodes pour surveiller les réponses extracellulaire RRO. Ensuite, nous présentons une méthode pour surveiller les réponses extracellulaire PN en utilisant un spot publicitaire de 16 canaux électrode 3. Une approche similaire en utilisant une tétrode sur mesure fil 8-channel torsadée est démontré pour les cellules de Kenyon enregistrements 8. Nous fournissons des détails de notre dispositif expérimental et présentent des traces d&#39;enregistrement représentatifs de chacune de ces techniques.
