En la Liga Americana, representaciones neurales de los olores en forma de patrones de disparo espacio-temporales distribuidos a través de conjuntos de neuronas principales (PN, también conocida como las neuronas de proyección) 2,3. La salida AL se procesa posteriormente por células de Kenyon (KCS) en el cuerpo de hongo aguas abajo (MB), una estructura asociada con la memoria y el aprendizaje olfativo 4,5. Ellae, se presentan técnicas electrofisiológicas de registro para controlar el mal olor respuestas evocadas en estos circuitos neuronales olfatorios. En primer lugar, se presenta un método sensillum sola grabación para estudiar el mal olor respuestas evocadas en el nivel de las poblaciones de ORNs 6,7. Se discute el uso de pipetas de vidrio llenos de solución salina afilados como electrodos para monitorear las respuestas ORN extracelularmente. A continuación, se presenta un método para monitorear las respuestas extracelularmente PN utilizando un canal comercial 16-electrodo 3. Un enfoque similar utilizando un tetrodo alambre a medida 8-canal trenzado se demuestra para células Kenyon grabaciones 8.
