Outils optogenetic génétiquement codés permettent une manipulation non invasive des neurones spécifiques dans le Drosophila Cerveau. Ces outils peuvent identifier les neurones dont l'activation est suffisante pour déclencher ou supprimer des comportements particuliers. Nous présentons ici une méthode pour activer Channelrhodopsin2 qui est exprimé dans les neurones ciblés chez les mouches librement à pied.
