Bakteri türlerinin hücre içi protein düzeylerinin araştırılması bu organizmaların neden olduğu hastalıkların patojenik mekanizmaların anlaşılması önem taşımaktadır. Burada, fosfat tamponlu tuzlu su içinde, etilendiamin tetraasetik asit ve fenilmetilsülfonil florit varlığında, cam boncuklar kullanılarak mekanik olarak parçalanması göre Burkholderia türünden protein çıkarımı için bir prosedür tarif eder.
