Vasektomi er en relativt rett frem kirurgisk teknikk som ikke involverer store vanskeligheter. Når desinfiserende med povidonjodid og etanol sørge for at siste vask (med etanol) fjerner povidonjodid, da det kan irritere bukhinnen. Tilgangen til vas deferens kan også oppnås ved pungen eller utfører en tverrgående snitt i buken 8.. Scrotal snitt har blitt anbefalt å avkuttingssk jær abdominal snitt på grunn av den relativt mindre snitt trengte og litt bedre postoperativ atferd 11. M...

Embryo er sannsynligvis den hyppigste kirurgiske inngrepet utført i mus modell. Denne teknikken er svært viktig for å oppnå avkom fra embryoer som er utsatt for in vitro-manipulasjonsteknikker, og derfor utgjør et nødvendig trinn for utvikling av genetisk modifiserte modeller ved pronuclear injeksjon, lentiviral transduksjon eller chimera formasjonen. Dessuten lar teknikken studiet av de utviklingsmessige effekter av ulike fornærmelser oppstår under preimplantation utvikling. Bruken av kunstig befruktning en eller eksponering for unormale konsentrasjoner av ulike stoffer eller metabolitter 2 mai påvirke embryo utvikling som resulterer i implantasjon eller placentation feil og langsiktige effekter i avkommet. En pålitelig og reproduserbar embryo teknikk er avgjørende for å teste de mulige negative effekter av eksperimentell behandling på implantasjon og fosterutvikling i en konsekvent mannner. Murine preimplantation embryoer kan overføres til en mottaker kvinnelige enten inn i oviduct via ampullae av 0,5 dager etter coitum (DPS) pseudopregnant mottakere (oviduct overføre) 3,4 eller inn i livmoren av 2,5 DPC pseudopregnant mottaker (livmor transfer) 5,6 avhengig av deres utviklingsstadiet. Embryoer ved blastocyststadiet, slik som de som brukes til å generere kimære mus ved injeksjon av embryonale eller indusert pluripotente stamceller, blir vanligvis overført ved uterin overføring.
