Ter nMST Material gefunden wurde, als eine wirksame Ionenaustauscher unter schwach zur Herstellung von Au (III) -Austausch nanotitanate sauren Bedingungen zu dienen. Zusätzlich wurde die Bildung des entsprechenden peroxotitanate durch Reaktion des nMST mit Wasserstoffperoxid nachgewiesen.

MST synthetisiert wird ein Sol-Gel-Verfahren verwendet, bei dem Tetraisopropoxytitan (IV) (TIPT), Natriummethoxid und Wasser kombiniert und umgesetzt in Isopropanol Keimteilchen von MST zu bilden. 4 Micron großen Teilchen werden dann durch kontrollierte Zugabe von zusätzlichen gewachsen Mengen der Reagenzien.
