Der gemeinsame Bettwanze Cimex lectularius L (Hemiptera: Cimicidae), als eine vorübergehende Ektoparasiten, ist eine verpflichtet blutsaugende Insekten, was bedeutet, ihr Überleben, Entwicklung und Reproduktion erfordern Blutquellen von Hosts, einschließlich Menschen und Tiere 1,2. Einzel Sensillum Aufzeichnungs (SSR) wurde entwickelt, um die extrazelluläre Änderung des Aktionspotentials durch die Anwendung entweder durch chemische oder nicht-chemische Reize verursacht werden. Durch Einfügen eines Aufzeichnungselektrode in Sensillum Lymphe und einer Referenzelektrode,in einem anderen Teil des Insektenkörpers (in der Regel entweder die Verbindung Augen oder der Bauch) kann die Feuerrate der Neuronen in Abhängigkeit von Stimulus aufgezeichnet 12. Veränderungen in der Anzahl von Spitzen darstellen, die Empfindlichkeit des Insekts auf bestimmte Reize. Chemische Reize verschiedener Identität und Konzentration werden verschiedene neuronale Antworten hervorrufen, mit verschiedenen Feuerungsraten und zeitlichen Strukturen, und können so verwendet werden, um die Codierung des Insekts, um bestimmte Chemikalien zu untersuchen. Für die gemeinsame Bettwanze, teilen beide Geschlechtsformen das gleiche Muster von olfaktorischen Sensillen auf den Antennen: neun genuteten Zapfen C Sensillen, 29 Haar-ähnliche E (E1 und E2) Sensillen, und jeder von D &amp; alpha;, D &amp; beta;, d &amp; ggr; glatte Zapfen ein Paar Sensillen 13,14. Als mehrere Neuronen in jeder Art von Sensillum identifiziert wurde, ist es nicht leicht, die Aktionspotentiale aus verschiedenen Neuronen der gleichen Sensillum gebracht zu unterscheiden, so dass für dieses Experiment die total Zahlen von Aktionspotentialen wurden off-line für einen 500 ms Zeit vor und nach der Stimulation gezählt. Die Anzahl der Aktionspotentiale nach Stimulation wurde dann aus der Anzahl von Aktionspotentialen vor der Stimulation subtrahiert und mit zwei multipliziert, um die Änderungen in der Befeuerungsrate in jedem einzelnen Sensillum in Spikes pro Sekunde 15 zu quantifizieren.

Für das Bett Bug, der ein notorischer menschliche Parasit ist, haben mehrere Arten von Geruchs Sensillum charakterisiert. In dieser Studie haben wir gezeigt, neuronale Reaktionen der Bettwanze olfaktorischen Sensillen auf zwei chemische Reize und die Dosis-abhängige Reaktion auf einen von ihnen mit dem SSR-Methode. Dieser Ansatz ermöglicht es Forschern, Früherkennung für einzelne chemische Reize auf der Bettwanze olfaktorischen Sensillen, die wertvolle Informationen für die Entwick bieten würde durchführenwicklung neuer Bettwanze Lockmittel oder Repellents und Nutzen die Bettwanze Kontrolle Anstrengungen.
