Das Wachstum der Nanodrähte Wismut ist, in einer physikalischen Dampfabscheidungssystem mit zumindest zwei Abscheidungsquellen, eine für Wismut und anderen für Vanadium durchgeführt werden. Es wird empfohlen, eine der Quellen ist eine Magnetronsputtervorrichtung Quelle für die Abscheidung von Vanadium. Hochvakuum wird durch eine Turbomolekularpumpen mit einer trockenen Spiralpumpe gesichert erreicht. Die Aufdampfanlage wird mit einer kalibrierten Quarzmikrowaage (QCM) zur in situ Dickenüberwachungsgeräte...

Nanodrähte beschränken den Transport von Ladungsträgern und anderen Quasiteilchen wie Photonen und Plasmonen in einer Dimension. Dementsprechend Nanodrähte weisen in der Regel neuartigen elektrischen, magnetischen, optischen und chemischen Eigenschaften, die sie für Anwendungen in der Mikro- / Nanoelektronik, Photonik, Medizintechnik, Umwelt- und Energie-Technologien zu gewähren nahezu unendlichen Potenzial. 1,2 Während der letzten zwei Jahrzehnte, zahlreiche Top-down- und Bottom-up-Ansätze wurden entwickelt, um eine breite Palette von hochwertigen Metall- oder Halbleiter-Nanodrähte im Labormaßstab. 3-6 Trotz dieser Entwicklungen Synthese beruht jeder Ansatz für bestimmte einzigartige Eigenschaften des Endprodukts für seinen Erfolg. Zum Beispiel ist das populäre Dampf-Flüssigkeit-Feststoff (VLS) Verfahren für die Halbleitermaterialien, die höhere Schmelzpunkte haben, und bilden eutektische Legierung mit entsprechenden katalytischen &quot;Keime&quot;. 7. Als Ergebnis bessere Passform, die Synthese eines NanodrahtMaterial von besonderem Interesse möglicherweise nicht von bestehenden Techniken abgedeckt werden. Als ein Halbmetall mit kleinen indirekten Bandüberdeckung (-38 meV bei 0 K) und ungewöhnlich leicht Ladungsträger, ist Wismut ein solches Beispiel. Verhält sich das Material bei geringen Abmessungen radikal anders im Vergleich zu ihrer Masse, als Quanteneinschluß könnte Bismut-Nanodrähten oder dünne Filme in ein Schmalbandabstand-Halbleiter zu machen. 8-12 In der Zwischenzeit wird die Oberfläche der Wismut bildet eine quasi-zweidimensionales Metall also deutlich mehr als die metallische Masse. 13,14 Es wurde gezeigt, dass die Oberfläche der Wismut erzielt eine Elektronenmobilität von 2 × 10 4 cm 2 V -1 s -1 und trägt sehr stark auf seine Thermokraft in Nanodrahtform. 15 Wie wie, gibt es erhebliche Interessen auf das Studium Bismut-Nanodrähte für elektronische und insbesondere thermoelektrische Anwendungen. 12-16 Aufgrund der Wismut sehr niedrigSchmelzpunkt (544 K) und die Bereitschaft zur Oxidation, bleibt es eine Herausforderung, hohe Qualität und einkristalline Nanodrähte Wismut mit traditionellen Dampfphase oder Lösungsphasentechniken Synthese. Zuvor wurde es von einigen Arbeitsgruppen beschrieben, dass einkristalline Wismut Nanodrähte wachsen bei niedrigen Ausbeute bei der Vakuumabscheidung von Bismut-Dünnschicht, die auf die Freisetzung von Stress in den Film eingebaut zugeschrieben wird. 17-20 In jüngster Zeit entdeckten wir eine neuartige Verfahren, das auf der thermischen Verdampfung des Wismut im Hochvakuum basiert und führt zu der skalierbaren Bildung von einkristallinen Bismut-Nanodrähte mit hoher Ausbeute. 21. Im Vergleich zu zuvor beschriebenen Verfahren, ist das einzigartige Merkmal dieses Verfahrens, dass das Wachstumssubstrat ist frisch beschichteten mit einer dünnen Schicht von nanoporösen Vanadium vor der Abscheidung Wismut. Während dessen thermische Verdampfung, infiltriert Wismutdampf in die nanoporöse Struktur der vanAdium Film und kondensiert dort als Nanodomänen. Da Vanadium nicht durch Kondenswasser Wismut benetzt, die infiltrierte Domänen anschließend aus dem Vanadium Matrix ausgetrieben, um ihre Oberflächenenergie zu lösen. Es ist die fortlaufende Vertreibung der Wismut-Nanodomänen, die die vertikale Bismut-Nanodrähte bildet. Da die Wismut-Domains sind nur 1-2 nm im Durchmesser, sind sie mit erheblichen Schmelzpunkt-Unterdrückung, die sie bei RT fast geschmolzenen macht. Als Ergebnis geht der Nanodrähte Wachstum mit der bei Raumtemperatur gehaltenen Substrats. Auf der anderen Seite, da die Wanderung der Wismut Domänen thermisch aktiviert wird, wobei die Länge und Breite der Nanodrähte können über einen weiten Bereich einfach durch Steuern der Temperatur des Wachstum-Substrats abgestimmt werden kann. Diese detaillierte Video-Protokoll soll dazu beitragen, neue Praktiker auf dem Gebiet zu vermeiden verschiedene häufige Probleme mit physikalische Gasphasenabscheidung von dünnen Schichten im Hochvakuum, sauerstofffreien Umgebung verbunden.

Hier wird eine kernlose und Template-freie Technik wird gezeigt, skalierbar wachsen Bismut-Nanodrähten durch thermische Verdampfung im Hochvakuum bei RT. Herkömmlicherweise für die Herstellung von dünnen Metallfolien, die thermische Verdampfung Ablagerungen Wismut in eine Anordnung von vertikalen einkristalline Nanodrähte über eine flache Dünnfilm Vanadium bei RT gehalten, die frisch durch Magnetron-Sputtern oder thermische Verdampfung abgeschieden ist reserviert. Durch die Steuerung der Temperatur des Wachstumssubstrat die Länge und Breite der Nanodrähte können über einen weiten Bereich eingestellt werden. Verantwortlich für diese neue Technik ist eine bisher unbekannte Nanodrahtwachstumsmechanismus, die Wurzeln in der milden Porosität des Vanadium-Dünnfilm. In die Vanadium Poren infiltriert, die Wismut-Domains (~ 1 nm) durchführen zu hohe Oberflächenenergie, die ihren Schmelzpunkt unterdrückt und kontinuierlich treibt sie aus dem Vanadium-Matrix, um Nanodrähte bilden. Diese Entdeckung zeigt die Durchführbarkeit von skalierbaren Dampfphase synthESIS von hochreinen Nanomaterialien ohne Verwendung von Katalysatoren.
