Denne studien presenterer en utgraving metode for å undersøke undergrunnen hydrologiske, geokjemiske og mikrobiologiske heterogenitet av et jord lysimeter. Den lysimeter simulerer en kunstig hillslope som var utgangspunktet i henhold til homogen tilstand og hadde blitt utsatt for ca. 5000 mm vann over åtte sykluser av vanning i en 18-måneders periode.
