I denne protokol er der flere kritiske trin. Første, mekanisk stabilitet er afgørende for prøveforberedelse. Overflade plasmon medieret fluorescens (SPMF) har fået betydelig opmærksomhed for nylig1,2,3,4,5,6. Når lys udledere er placeret i umiddelbar nærhed af et plasmonic system, kan energi overføres mellem udledere og overflade plasmon polaritons (SPP'er). Generelt, kan de stærke plasmonic felter kraftigt forbedre excitation af udledere2. På samme tid, er emission også steget på grund af den store tæthed-af-stater lavet af SPP'er, giver den velkendte Purcell virkning3. Disse to processer arbejde hånd i hånd i producerer SPMF. Som SPMF har stimuleret talrige anvendelsesmuligheder i solid state belysning,1,4, energi høst5og bio-påvisning6, er det i øjeblikket under intensiv efterforskning. Især viden om energi-overførselshastigheder fra SPP'er til udledere og vice versa, dvs., excitation og kobling satser, er af stor betydning. Men excitations- og processer er normalt viklet sammen, undersøgelse af dette aspekt mangler stadig. For eksempel, bestemme de fleste af undersøgelserne kun excitation effektivitet ratio, som simpelthen sammenligner emission med og uden SPP'er7. Den nøjagtige måling af excitation sats er stadig mangler. På den anden side tidsopløst konventionelle teknikker såsom fluorescens levetid spektroskopi bruges rutinemæssigt til at studere dynamikken i emission proces, men de er i stand til at adskille kobling sats fra den samlede henfald sats8. Her beskriver vi, hvordan man kan bestemme dem ved at kombinere hastighed ligningen modellen og tidsmæssige koblede tilstand teori9,10. Bemærkelsesværdigt, finder vi, at excitation og kobling priser kan være udtrykt i målbare mængder, som kan tilgås ved at udføre vinkel - og polarisering-løst refleksivitet og fotoluminescens spektroskopi. Vi vil først skitsere af formulering og derefter beskrive instrumentation i detaljer. Denne tilgang er helt frekvens domæne baseret og det kræver ikke nogen tid-løst tilbehør såsom ultra-hurtig lasere og tid-korreleret enkelt-foton tællere, som er dyre og undertiden vanskeligt at gennemføre8, 11. vi forventer denne teknik for at være en nødvendig teknologi for bestemmelse af excitation og kobling mellem lys udledere og resonant hulrum.
SPMF i periodiske systemer er orienteret her. For en periodisk plasmonic system, hvor Bloch-lignende SPP'er kan genereres, end direkte excitations og emissioner, som er karakteriseret ved excitation effektivitet η og spontane emission sats ΓRasmussen, udledere kan blive ophidset af indgående SPP'er og henfald via udgående SPP'er. Med andre ord under resonans excitation, er indgående SPP'er genereret for at skabe stærke plasmonic felter, at energize udledere. Når udledere er ophidset, kan energi fra dem overføres til udgående SPP'er, som efterfølgende radiatively sprede til langt-ager, giver anledning til øget emission. De definerer SPMF. For simpel to-niveau udledere refererer excitation til øget overgangen af elektroner fra jorden til de glade stater emission defineres henfald af elektroner tilbage til jorden stater, ledsaget af photon emission ved bølgelængder defineret af energi forskellen mellem glade og jorden. Excitations- og betingelserne for SPMF er forpligtet til at opfylde den velkendte fase matchende ligning at ophidse den indgående og udgående SPP'er9

hvor εen og εm er de dielektriske konstanter af dielectrics og metal, θ og φ er de indfaldende og azimutale vinkler, P er perioden af matrixen, λ er excitation eller emission bølgelængde, og m og n er de heltal, der angiver rækkefølgen af SPP'er. For excitation, i flyet wavevector af laserstrålen bliver Bragg spredt til momentum match med de indgående SPP'er og θ og φ sammen definere den angivne hændelse konfiguration for spændende SPP'er hen til forøge den elektroniske absorption på den excitation bølgelængde λex. Ved hjælp af sats ligning model og tidsmæssige koblede tilstand teori (CMT), vi finder, at excitation sats Γex, dvs energi overførselshastigheden fra SPP'er til udledere, kan udtrykkes som9,12,13

På den anden side kan koblingen sats Γc, dvs energi overførselshastigheden fra udledere til SPP'er, skrives som:

Vi vil se, at mens alle SPP henfald priser kan måles af refleksionsevne spektroskopi, magtforholdene emission kan bestemmes ved fotoluminescens spektroskopi. determination of the excitation and coupling rates between light emitters and surface plasmon polaritons

Vi har udviklet en unik metode til at måle excitation og kobling priser mellem lys udledere og overflade plasmon polaritons (SPP'er) som følge af metallisk periodiske arrays uden at involvere tidsopløst teknikker. Vi har formuleret satserne af mængder, der kan måles ved simpel optiske målinger. Instrumenteringen baseret på løst vinkel og polarisering refleksivitet og fotoluminescens spektroskopi vil blive beskrevet i detaljer her. Vores tilgang er spændende på grund af sin enkelhed, som kræver rutine optik og flere mekaniske faser, og dermed er meget overkommelige for de fleste af forskningslaboratorier.
