Dette papiret viser vi strategier for å produsere vannavstøtende overflater på aluminium underlag. I tillegg viser vi metoder å karakterisere deres wetting egenskaper, grovhet, holdbarhet og anti-glasur ytelse.
For å forberede SH overflater, brukte vi to strategier. Første strategi innlemmet riktig grovheten graden for å oppnå indre hierarkistrukturen SH overflater av syre etsing. Denne prosessen er spesielt viktig, som krever videre arbeid for andre metaller eller aluminium underlag m...

Muligheten for superhydrophobic (SH) overflater å frastøte vann er grunnen til at de er tradisjonelt foreslått som en løsning for å hindre ising1,2. Men det er bekymringer om egnetheten av SH overflater for anti-glasur agenter: 1) de høye kostnadene ved produksjon, 2) at superhydrophobicity ikke alltid føre til ice-phobicity33) tvilsom holdbarheten av SH overflater4 . Superhydrophobic overflater holder to egenskaper knyttet til deres topografi og kjemiske sammensetning5: de er grovt, med spesielle topografiske funksjoner; og deres overflate energi er lav (egentlig hydrofobe).
Grovheten på en hydrofobe overflate serverer å redusere forholdet mellom den virkelige faste-flytende stoffer og tilsynelatende kontakt området. Vannet er ikke fullt i kontakt med solid på grunn av den lotus effekt6,7, når miste hviler eller beveger seg på overflaten asperities. I dette scenariet faste-flytende stoffer grensesnittet fungerer heterogeneously med to kjemiske domener: solid overflate selv og de lille luftboblene fanget mellom solid og8. Graden av vannavstøting er koblet til mengden av innestengte luften fordi air patcher er glatt og dens iboende kontakt vinkel er 180°. Noen studier rapporterer inkorporering av en hierarkisk overflatestruktur med micro og nano-asperities som den optimale strategien å gi bedre vannavstøtende egenskaper (større tilstedeværelse av luft i faste-flytende stoffer grensesnittet)9. For noen metaller er en rimelig strategi å opprette to-nivå grovheten funksjoner syre-etsing10,11. Denne fremgangsmåten brukes ofte i bransjen. Med visse syre konsentrasjoner og etsing ganger avslører metalloverflate riktig hierarkisk grovheten. Generelt, er overflate avgrading optimalisert ved å variere syre konsentrasjonen, etsing klokkeslett eller begge12. Overflate energi av metaller er høy og derfor fabrikasjon av vannavstøtende metallflater krever senere hydrophobization.
Hydrophobization oppnås vanligvis ved hydrofobe filmen deponering ved hjelp av ulike metoder: silanization10,13, dukkert belegg14, spin belegg15, sprøyting16 eller plasma-deponering17 . Silanization har vært foreslått18 som en av de mest lovende verktøyet for å forbedre lav holdbarheten av SH overflater. I motsetning til andre deponering teknikker, er silanization prosessen basert på en kovalent binding mellom Si-OH med overflaten hydroksyl grupper av metall substrat10. En ulempe ved silanization prosessen er behovet for tidligere aktivisering av metall underlaget opprette nok hydroksyl grupper for en høy grad av dekning og ensartethet. En annen strategi nylig foreslått å produsere motstandsdyktig superhydrophobic overflater er bruken av sjeldne-earth belegg19,20. Ceria belegg har to egenskaper som rettferdiggjør dette: de kan egentlig hydrofobe21, og de er mekanisk og kjemisk robust. Spesielt er en av de viktigste grunnene til hvorfor de er valgt som beskyttende belegg deres korrosjonsbeskyttelse evner20.
For å produsere langvarig SH metallflater, regnes som to problemer: overflatestruktur må ikke bli skadet, og det hydrofobe film/belegget må være godt forankret til underlaget. Overflater er vanligvis utsatt for slitasje opprinnelse av lateral slitasje eller partikkel innvirkning4. Hvis asperities er skadet, kan water-repellency reduseres betydelig. Den hydrofobe coating delvis kan fjernes fra overflaten eller kjemisk kan reduseres av UV eksponering, fuktighet eller korrosjon under ekstreme miljøer. Utformingen av slitesterk SH underlag belegg er en viktig utfordring for belegg og overflate engineering.
For metaller, en av de mest krevende behovene er at anti-glasur evne er basert på tre sammenknyttede aspekter22 som vist i figur 1: subcooled vannavstøting, frysing forsinkelse og lav is-vedheft. Utendørs glasur oppstår når subcooled vann, vanligvis regn faller, kommer i kontakt med en solid overflate og er frosset av heterogene nucleation23. Dannet isen (rime) er godt festet til overflaten. Dermed er første skritt for å unngå isdannelse å redusere solid-vann kontakt tiden. Hvis overflaten er superhydrophobic, kan regn faller bli utvist fra overflaten før frysing. I tillegg har det blitt bevist at under fuktige værforhold, overflater med en høy kontakt vinkel forsinke frysing mer effektivt enn de med en lav kontakt vinkel24. For disse to grunner er SH overflater mest hensiktsmessig overflater å redusere glasur. Levetiden til superhydrophobic overflater kan imidlertid være et viktig poeng siden glasur er vanligvis aggressiv25. Noen studier har konkludert med at SH overflater ikke er det beste valget for å redusere isen vedheft26. Når skjemaene is på overflaten den blir godt festet på grunn av overflaten asperities. Grovheten øker is-overflate kontakt området og asperities fungere som sikringsanlegg agenter26. Bruk av slitesterke SH overflaten anbefales å unngå isdannelse hvis det er ingen spor av is allerede finnes på overflaten.
I dette arbeidet presenterer vi flere protokoller for å produsere holdbar SH overflater på mettaliske underlag. Vi bruker aluminium (Al) som underlaget fordi det er mye brukt i industrien, og innlemmelse av anti-glasur egenskaper er særlig aktuelt for enkelte programmer (ski resorts fasiliteter, luftfart, etc.). Vi forbereder tre typer overflater: en strukturert Al overflate belagt med en fluoropolymer belegg, en strukturert Al overflate silanized med en fluorosilane og en ceria-stearic acid bilayer på et Al substrat. Lignende teknikker17,27,28,29 gir 100-300 nm filmen tykkelser eller selv monolayer filmer. For hver overflaten, vi målt wetting egenskaper og gjennomført slitasje tester. Til slutt, vi analyserte anti-glasur resultatene ved hjelp av tre tester som tar sikte å undersøke uavhengig tre egenskapene vises i figur 1.
Våre protokollen er basert på oppsettet vises i figur 2. Når SH Al overflater er forberedt, analyseres deres wetting egenskaper og topografi for å fastslå deres repellency egenskaper og råhet funksjoner. Egenskapene wetting analyseres av spretter slipp eksperimenter, som er en teknikk knyttet til vann strekk vedheft. Siden observasjon av slipp transittstopp er nødvendig, er denne teknikken bare egnet for superhydrophobic overflater13. For hver overflaten behandling forberedt vi minst fire prøver å utføre anti-glasur testene og en annen fire prøver å utføre holdbarhet testene. Skadene etter hver holdbarhet test ble analysert ved å måle tap av wetting egenskaper og råhet funksjoner. Lignende holdbarhet tester til den foreslåtte i dette arbeidet ble nylig brukt til andre metallflater27,30.
Om anti-glasur testene, målet med denne studien er å avgjøre om bruk av produsert SH Al overflater er praktisk som anti-glasur. Derfor vi analysert, for sammenligning ytelsen til to control eksempler: en) en ubehandlet Al prøven (jevn hydrofile prøve) og b) en hydrophobized men ikke strukturert prøven (jevn hydrofobe prøve). For samme formål, bruk av lysbildebakgrunn, men ikke hydrophobized overflaten kan være av interesse. Dessverre denne overflaten er ekstremt vannbløtbart og anti-glasur tester kan ikke utføres for dem.

fabrication of superhydrophobic metal surfaces for anti-icing applications

Flere måter å produsere superhydrophobic metallflater presenteres i dette arbeidet. Aluminium ble valgt som metall underlaget på grunn av bred bruk i industrien. Wettability av produsert overflaten ble analysert av spretter slipp eksperimenter og topografi ble analysert av AC confocal mikroskopi. I tillegg viser vi ulike metoder for å måle holdbarheten og anti-glasur egenskaper. Superhydrophobic overflater holder en spesiell tekstur som må bevares for å holde sine water-repellency. For å utvikle slitesterke overflaten, fulgte vi to strategier for å innlemme en motstandsdyktig tekstur. Første strategi er en direkte innblanding av ruhet å metall underlaget av syre etsing. Etter denne overflaten texturization, ble overflate energi redusert med silanization eller fluoropolymer avsettelse. Andre strategien er veksten av et ceria lag (etter overflaten texturization) som skal øke overflaten hardhet og korrosjon motstand. Overflate energi ble redusert med en stearinsyre film.
Holdbarheten av superhydrophobic overflater ble undersøkt av en partikkel innvirkning test, mekanisk slitasje av lateral slitasje og UV-ozon motstand. Anti-glasur egenskapene ble utforsket ved å studere oppheve subcooled vann, frysing forsinkelse, og is vedheft.

Egenskapene wetting og råhet av SH overflater som ble brukt i denne studien er vist i figur 5. Gjennomsnittlig antall transittstopp til hver prøve vises i figur 5a og gjennomsnittlig grovheten er vist i figur 5b. Det er ingen sammenheng mellom grovheten og tisse egenskaper.
