نماذج تجريبية على أساس الإصابة بطبيعتها صعبة بسبب اعتمادها على ظروف انطلاق الدولة المضيفة والممرض ومختلف الاستراتيجيات الإصابة بمسببات المرض وصعوبة إسناد العمليات يحركها العوامل الممرضة والمضيفة استناداً إلى النتائج. بكتيريا الليستريه المستوحدة (Lm) قد أصبح ممرض مثالي سبر ردود الدفاع المضيف بسبب لها الصوبة الوراثية والميكروبيولوجية واستراتيجيتها للعدوى الخلوي السريع وبروسيسيفي وواضحة نسبيا العلاقة بين تعمل العدوى المستوى الخلوي وأورجانيسميك به. العدوى الخلوية من Lm العائدات من خلال أربع مراحل متميزة1: (ط) غزو الهاتف الخلوي الذي يختتم Lm يجري المحاطة المنقبضة؛ (ثانيا) Lm-توجه انحلال الغشاء المنقبضة وإطلاق Lm في سيتوسول؛ (ثالثا) النسخ المتماثل إينتراسيتوسوليك؛ واختراق غشاء البلازما تنتج أما العدوى من الخلايا المجاورة مباشرة (مثل ورقة الظهارية)، أو في زنزانات انفرادية، إطلاق سراح Lm في الوسط خارج الخلية الجسدية (رابعا). كل مرحلة من هذه المراحل التي تروجها محددة Lm-ترميز العوامل (يشار إليها على أنها 'عوامل الفوعة')، عند حذف، يسبب تشوهات العدوى في النماذج الخلوية والحيوانات على حد سواء. هذه الاستراتيجية العامة العدوى تطورت بشكل مستقل بعدد من العوامل الممرضة 'سيتوسوليك' ما يسمى2.
