糸球体疾患は腎臓障害の重要なグループであり、末期腎疾患(ESRD)の主要な原因を表す。残念ながら、特定の治療オプションは限られており、ESRDへの進行は避けられません。糸球体疾患は、糸球体損傷の存在によって定義され、炎症性および非炎症性疾患でグループ化することができる。最初の侮辱は異なるが、最近の研究では、一般的な細胞機構が糸球体上皮細胞,過形成につながり、最終的には基底原因1、2、3、42に関係なく、すべての糸球体疾患における糸球体性動脈1硬化症につながることが示されている。3,4

実験動物モデルでは、遺伝子発現の変化(ノックアウトモデルまたはトランスジェニックマウスモデル)や頭頂皮細胞に対する薬物治療の直接的な効果の証拠を提供することはしばしば困難である。従来のノックアウトマウスでは、生体内変化が観察され、頭頂皮細胞の直接的な変化によって説明され得る。しかし、遺伝子発現はマウス内の他の細胞型でも変化するため、他の細胞型によって媒介される間接的な効果を排除することはできません。主に頭頂頭上皮細胞で活性なプロモーターによって駆動される条件付き cre-lox マウスの開発は、場合によっては13の解決策を提供している。それにもかかわらず、条件付きトランスジェニックモデルは複雑であり、より多くの条件線が利用可能になるが、従来のノックアウトまたはトランスジェニックマウスラインの多くにとって、まだ条件付き代替手段はない。
