הדמיית תהודה מגנטית תפקודית של מצב מנוחה, או fMRI במצב מנוחה, הפכה לשיטה פופולרית יותר ויותר לחקר תפקוד המוח במצב של מנוחה שאינה משימה. ההתקדמות הטכנולוגית אפשרה להתאים את fMRI של מצב המנוחה לשימוש במודלים של מכרסמים, וניתן להשתמש בהן לחשיפת מנגנונים שבבסיס מצבי המחלה. הפרוטוקול המתואר כאן משלב איזופלוראן במינון נמוך עם dexmedetomidine במינון נמוך, המאפשר רכישת נתונים באיכות גבוהה ושימור של במוח. בעזרת פרוסת הקשת האמצעית, יישרו את הפרוסה צירית מרכזית לפירוק של הקוורטרקטור, המופיע כנקודה כהה. שים לב להיסט הפרוסה לשימוש מאוחר יותר בסריקות מצב המנוחה.רכוש 23 פרוסות באמצעות הפרוטוקולים ציריים FLASH ו- RARE כדי לסייע ברישום למרחב משותף במהלך ניתוח שלאחר הסריקה. שיים על פני כל המוח באמצעות רצף PRESS. לאחר השלמת הסריקות האנטומיות, להפחית איזופלוראן ל 0.5 עד 0.75%כוונון כך הנשימה של
