Denne prosedyren kan tilpasses for å kutte litt tykkere seksjoner, si rundt en millimeter, som deretter kan brukes i lysarkfluorescensmikroskopi for å studere det romlige proteinuttrykket i et mer tredimensjonalt volum. Vår forskning undersøker faktorer som påvirker lungetransplantasjonsavvisning, og utvikler terapier for å redusere avvisning ved hjelp av vår grismodell. Denne teknikken bidrar til å forstå romlige proteinendringer som påvirker transplantasjonsutfall etter operasjonen.
Vi bruker for tiden denne teknikken til å utforske det romlige proteinuttrykkslandskapet i vår griselungetransplantasjonsmodell. Vi håper at det vil hjelpe oss å bedre forstå mekanismene bak våre eksperimentelle terapier.
