Наиболее важным преимуществом нашей модели является ее способность имитировать значительные нарушения в обращении с липидами, наблюдаемые у пациентов с HFpEF. Эта мышиная модель дает ценную информацию о патофизиологии HFpEF, особенно о сердечном метаболизме.
Наши результаты подчеркивают важность неправильной обработки жирных кислот и холестерина при кардиометаболической HFpEF. Эта модель прекрасно показывает, как недостаток жирных кислот нарушает обмен веществ на разных уровнях. Это предоставляет исследователям потенциальные возможности для обнаружения новых ловушек для пациентов с HFpEF.
Здесь, в лаборатории Шахада, мы сосредоточимся на переводе этой модели на крупных животных. Мы исследуем вопросы, связанные с патогенезом, внезапной смертью и потенциальными терапевтическими вмешательствами, направленными на липотоксичность, воспаление и ремоделирование сердца.
