Es ist notwendig, den Fehler bei der Unterstichprobe zu reduzieren, um sicherzustellen, dass die Ergebnisse repräsentativ für die interessierende Grundgesamtheit sind. Dieses Protokoll wurde verwendet, um über 50 Stämme von Campylobacter zu isolieren, die anschließend in genomischen Studien verwendet wurden. Unsere Daten und Analysen trugen zum Verständnis der Molekülmechanismen von Campylobacter-Wirtserregern und des horizontalen Gentransfers bei.
Eine solche Größe wird die Entwicklung neuartiger therapeutischer Strategien zur Behandlung von Campylobacterose erleichtern. Dieses Protokoll bietet die Möglichkeit, die Unterprobenahme um den Faktor 13 zu reduzieren und reduziert auch die Zeit, die für die Isolierung von Campylobacter aus rohem Fleisch erforderlich ist, um 24 Stunden oder innerhalb eines achtstündigen Arbeitstages. Zukünftige Studien können diese Methodik für die Isolierung von Campylobacter nicht nur aus Lebensmitteln, sondern auch aus Umweltproben anwenden.
