Dra. Barrientos-Fernández is a graduate in Education Sciences and her PhD focuses on the development of social and emotional skills.

Dra. Barrientos-Fernández has published more than 20 research articles on aspects related to education. Currently, his most outstanding line of research is focused on the study of virtual reality and its influence on the teaching and learning process. In addition, she is working on other educational topics such as educational innovation and current teaching methodologies.
