Steve Reichenbach is a professor emeritus with the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department of the University of Nebraska (Lincoln NE, USA). He earned a Ph.D. degree from the College of William and Mary (Williamsburg VA, USA), M.S. degree from Washington University (St. Louis MO, USA), and B.A. from the University of Nebraska.
His research focuses on processing, analysis, and visualization of data from multidimensional chemical analyses. He is the founding director of GC Image, LLC (Lincoln NE, USA), a commercial spin-off of his university research, which is the leading global innovator of cheminformatics software for comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GCxGC), liquid chromatography (LCxLC), and other multidimensional separations.
Professor Reichenbach has served as chair of the CSE Department, held a research associateship from National Research Council at NASA Langley Research Center, a research fellowship from the American Society for Engineering Education research fellowship at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and a visiting professorship at the
University of Manchester Interdisciplinary Biocentre. His research has produced more than 200 journal and conference papers. His work on characterizing image acquisition devices has been used in several ISO standards for digital cameras and his work on image restoration is used for MTF-correction of Landsat 7 ETM+ images. As an entrepreneur, he also was the founding director of Nebraska's oldest Internet service provider.
