College of Life Sciences
Lei Nie is an Associate Professor at the College of Life Sciences, Xinyang Normal University, China. He completed his Ph. D. from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China.
During Dr. Nie's Ph.D. training he focused on calcium phosphate-based nanocomposite as a scaffold for bone tissue engineering. After then, he received three years of postdoctoral training at Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering (CAS, China) and Free University of Berlin (Germany). His research expanded to functional hydrogels, drug delivery, 3D cell culture, nanoparticles, and so on.
Dr. Nie began his research as an independent PI at Xinyang Normal University (China) in 2017 and constructed a lab of Biomedical Engineering. He started 3D bioprinting work at KU Leuven (Belgium) in 2019. His main research interests include biopolymers, drug delivery, tissue engineering, healthcare devices, and 3D bioprinting.
