Syed Ragib Safi is a Research Fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, and a Ph.D. scholar in Graduate School of Engineering, Hiroshima University, Japan. He received his Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, India. He obtained a Master of Business Administration degree from Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He acquired a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Hiroshima University, Japan.
During Mr. Safi’s training, he developed a keen focus on research that encompasses the detection, separation, and removal of hazardous components from groundwater using polymer adsorbents. Besides his current research, he also separated oil from oil-water emulsion using thermosensitive polymer gel.
Mr. Safi achieved “Toyo Engineering encouragement award” and “Best student award” at the 47th Annual meeting of the Society of Separation Process Engineers Japan in 2017. In addition, he obtained ‘Best researcher award’ by The Chemical Society of Japan (Chugoku Shikoku Branch) and, “Keiji Kawamura memorial award” for the best student of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Hiroshima University in 2019. He also secured Rotary Yoneyama memorial scholarship and Indian Government Scholarship.
