A Research Scientist in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology, and laboratory manager for the UW Neonatal Neuroscience Laboratory (NNL). Dr. Moralejo has a wealth of experience with over 20 years of laboratory animal medicine experience, clinical and research, molecular biology, microbiology, ABSL2 practices, and multiple animal models. He has completed 2 Laboratory Animal Residency Programs: rodents (3 years - University of Washington) and non-human primates (2 years – Keeling Center for Comparative Medicine and Research, MD Anderson Cancer Center). He has been the PI and Co-PI funded from ADA and NIH, with over 40 peer reviewed publications. He has expertise in IACUC/IBC, as he has participated in the review of research protocols, animal colony issues, management issues and consultations, as well as providing essential collaboration in the development of the late term ferret model.
