Vijendra Arya is a postdoctoral researcher in the Molecular Physiology and Biophysics department of Carver College of Medicine, University of Iowa in Iowa City, USA. He received his undergraduate degree from MDS University, Ajmer and a Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India.
In his Ph.D. career, he studied the role of SMARCAL1 protein, which is a human DNA repair protein and mutations in this protein cause Schimke Immuno-Osseous Dysplasia disease. He then moved to Prof. Moye-Rowley’s lab at the University of Iowa, Iowa, USA. Here he is investigating the network of transcription factors that governs virulence in Aspergillus fumigatus fungus which causes Aspergillosis disease.
