We show that minimal physical contact can increase people's sense of security and consequently lead them to increased risk-taking behavior. In three experiments, with both hypothetical and real payoffs, a female experimenter's light, comforting pat on the shoulder led participants to greater financial risk taking. Further, this effect was both mediated and moderated by feelings of security in both male and female participants. Finally, we established the boundary conditions for the impact of physical contact on risk-taking behaviors by demonstrating that the effect does not occur when the touching is performed by a male and is attenuated when the touch consists of a handshake. The results suggest that subtle physical contact can be strongly influential in decision making and the willingness to accept risk.

Physical contact and financial risk taking.

Nous montrons qu&#39;un minimum de contact physique peut augmenter le sentiment de s&eacute;curit&eacute; et par cons&eacute;quent leur engendrer des comportements de prise de risque accrue. Dans trois exp&eacute;riences, avec hypoth&eacute;tiques tant r&eacute;els gains, lumi&egrave;re d&#39;un exp&eacute;rimentateur femelle, pat r&eacute;confortante sur l&#39;&eacute;paule a conduit les participants &agrave; une plus grande prise de risque financier. En outre, cet effet a &eacute;t&eacute; v&eacute;hicul&eacute;e par et anim&eacute; par un sentiment de s&eacute;curit&eacute; chez les participants m&acirc;les et femelles. Enfin, nous avons &eacute;tabli les conditions aux limites de l&#39;impact d&#39;un contact physique sur les comportements de prise de risque en d&eacute;montrant que l&#39;effet ne se produit pas lorsque le toucher est effectu&eacute;e par un m&acirc;le et est att&eacute;nu&eacute;e lorsque le contact se compose d&#39;une poign&eacute;e de main. Les r&eacute;sultats sugg&egrave;rent que le contact physique subtil peut &ecirc;tre fortement influent dans le processus d&eacute;cisionnel et la volont&eacute; d&#39;accepter le risque.

Contact physique et prise de risque financier.

Wir zeigen, dass minimale K&ouml;rperkontakt Menschen das Gef&uuml;hl der Sicherheit zu erh&ouml;hen und ihnen deshalb zu erh&ouml;hter Risikobereitschaft Verhalten f&uuml;hren kann. In drei Experimenten f&uuml;hrte beruhigend auf die Schulter klopfen mit sowohl real als auch hypothetische Profiten, eine weibliche Experimentator Licht, zu gr&ouml;&szlig;erer finanzieller Risikobereitschaft, Teilnehmer. Die Ergebnisse legen nahe, dass subtile K&ouml;rperkontakt stark Einfluss auf die Entscheidungsfindung und die Risikobereitschaft sein kann.

K&ouml;rperkontakt und finanzielle Risikobereitschaft.

Mostriamo che minimo contatto fisico pu&ograve; aumentare il senso della gente di sicurezza e di conseguenza li portano al comportamento di maggiore assunzione di rischi. In tre esperimenti, con vincite ipotetiche e reale, luce una femmina sperimentatore, confortante pacca sulla spalla ha guidato i partecipanti a una maggiore assunzione di rischi finanziari. Ulteriormente, questo effetto &egrave; stato mediato sia moderato da sentimenti di sicurezza nei partecipanti maschii e femminili. Infine, abbiamo stabilito le condizioni al contorno per l&#39;impatto del contatto fisico sui comportamenti di assunzione di rischi, dimostrando che l&#39;effetto non si verifica quando il contatto viene eseguito da un maschio ed &egrave; attenuato quando il tocco &egrave; costituito da una stretta di mano. En tres experimentos, con rendimientos tanto hipot&eacute;ticos como reales, luz de una mujer del experimentador, reconfortante palmadita en el hombro llev&oacute; los participantes a una mayor toma de riesgos financieros. Adem&aacute;s, este efecto fue mediada y moderado por sentimientos de seguridad en los participantes femeninas y masculinas. Finalmente, hemos establecido las condiciones de l&iacute;mite por el impacto del contacto f&iacute;sico en comportamientos de riesgo, demostrando que el efecto no se produce cuando el contacto se realiza por un macho y se aten&uacute;a cuando el toque consiste en un apret&oacute;n de manos.
