Registrazione cronica di grandi popolazioni di neuroni è una tecnica utile per studiare la funzione dei circuiti neuronali in ratti svegli comportarsi. Dispositivi di registrazione leggero portando una serie ad alta densità di tetrodi consentire il monitoraggio simultaneo dell&#39;attività di decine o centinaia di singoli neuroni. Qui si descrive un protocollo per la realizzazione di un micro-drive array con 21 indipendentemente mobile micro-unità. Questo dispositivo è stato usato con successo per registrare da neuroni corticali e dell&#39;ippocampo nel nostro laboratorio. Mostriamo come preparare un costume disegnato, 3-D di base stampata in plastica che si terrà il micro-drive. Dimostriamo come costruire le singole micro-unità e come assemblare l&#39;intero micro-drive array. Ulteriore preparazione del array di unità per l&#39;impianto chirurgico, come ad esempio la fabbricazione di tetrodi, carico di tetrodi in array di unità e di doratura, è coperto in un articolo il video successivo.
