measuring replicative life span in the budding yeast

O envelhecimento é um processo degenerativo caracterizado por uma deterioração progressiva de componentes celulares e organelas, resultando em mortalidade. A levedura de brotamento<em&gt; Saccharomyces cerevisiae</em&gt; Tem sido amplamente utilizado para estudar a biologia do envelhecimento, e diversos determinantes da longevidade de leveduras foram mostrados para ser conservada em eucariotos multicelulares, incluindo vermes, moscas e ratos<sup&gt; 1</sup&gt;. Cepas de leveduras típicas de laboratório 20-30 produzir células-filhas por mãe e um experimento de tempo de vida exige de 2-3 semanas.
