Eine wichtige Innovation, die aus diesen Aufnahmen bewährt hat sich die Kombination der Elektroden in einem Kabel. Zwei Elektroden Aufnahmen wurden bereits verwendet, sondern baut auf vier einzelnen Elektroden führte zur Bildung von chirurgischen Adhäsionen, die oft verhindert das Tier aus machen normale Fress-Bewegungen. Die Kombination der Elektroden in einem Kabel reduziert die Masse der Elektroden im Inneren des Tieres, das wiederum reduziert die Immunantwort und ermöglicht es dem Tier, sich freier zu bewegen. <...

Aufnahme von wichtigen Nerven und Muskeln<em&gt; Aplysia</em&gt; Während der Fütterung Verhalten ermöglicht es uns, die Muster der neuronalen Kontrolle in einer intakten Tier zu studieren. Gleichzeitig Aufnahme von mehreren Nerven und Muskeln gibt präzise Auskunft über den Zeitpunkt der neuronalen Aktivität. Vorherige Aufnahme Methoden sind für zwei Elektroden gearbeitet, aber die Studie von zusätzlichen Nerven oder Muskeln benötigt die Kombination und die Mittelung der Aufnahmen von mehreren Tieren, die es schwierig, feine Details von Timing-und Ausstieg zu bestimmen hat, weil der Variabilität aus der Reaktion auf Ansprechen, und von Tier zu Tier. Die Implantation vier einzelnen Elektroden hat eine sehr niedrige Erfolgsquote aufgrund der Bildung von Verwachsungen, dass die Tiere von der Durchführung normaler Fütterung Bewegungen zu verhindern. Wir entwickelten eine neue Methode zur Herstellung Elektrode, dass der Großteil der Elektroden im Inneren des Tieres ermöglicht für die normale Ernährung Bewegungen reduziert. Mit einer Kombination von Klebstoffen zu den Elektroden führt zu einer zuverlässigen Isolierung der Elektrode, die länger dauert legen, die es ermöglichen, für einen Zeitraum, solange in der Woche aufzunehmen. Die Herstellungstechnik, die wir beschreiben, könnte erweitert werden, um mehrere zusätzliche Elektroden enthalten sein, und wäre für Wirbeltiere.
