הקלטה של ​​העצבים והשרירים העיקריים של<em&gt; Aplysia</em&gt; במהלך התנהגות האכלה מאפשרת לנו ללמוד את דפוסי השליטה העצבית חיים שלמים. במקביל להקלטה מתוך העצבים והשרירים מרובים נותן לנו מידע מדויק על העיתוי של פעילות עצבית. שיטות הקלטה קודמים עבד עבור שתי אלקטרודות, אבל את המחקר של עצבים או שרירים נוסף נדרש שילוב ממוצעים של ההקלטות של בעלי חיים רבים, אשר הקשו על מנת לקבוע הפרטים הקטנים של עיתוי בהדרגה, בגלל השתנות מן כתגובה, ומתוך חיה לחיה. השתלת ארבע אלקטרודות אדם בעל שיעור הצלחה נמוך מאוד עקב היווצרות של הידבקויות המונעות חיות מלבצע תנועות האכלה רגילה. פיתחנו שיטה חדשה של ייצור אלקטרודה המפחיתה את חלק הארי של האלקטרודות בתוך החיה ומאפשר תנועות האכלה רגילה. באמצעות שילוב של דבקים לצרף את התוצאות אלקטרודות בידוד אמין יותר של האלקטרודה אשר נמשך זמן רב יותר, כך שניתן להקליט לתקופות עוד שבוע. טכניקת ייצור שאנו מתארים ניתן יהיה להרחיב לשלב אלקטרודות נוספות אחדות, תהיה ישימה בעלי חיים בעלי חוליות.
