Eiwitzuivering is de belangrijkste stap in elk eiwitten biochemische of structurele studies. Magnetotactic bacteriën vormen een diverse groep van aquatische micro-organismen die in staat zijn om zich te oriënteren langs geomagnetische velden. Dit gedrag wordt verondersteld om hun zoektocht naar geschikte omgevingen hulp<em&gt; (1)</em&gt;. Deze mogelijkheid is verleend door de magnetosome, een subcellulaire organel dat bestaat uit een lineaire keten assemblage van lipide vesicles elke staat zijn om biomineralize en omsluiten een ~ 50-nm kristal van magnetiet hetzij greigite. Een principe onderdeel van de magnetosome dat was aangetoond dat nodig voor de vorming van functionele blaasjes is Mama. Mama is een zeer overvloedige magnetosome-geassocieerd eiwit dat is een van de meest gekenmerkt magnetosome-geassocieerde eiwitten<em&gt; In vivo</em&gt;<em&gt; (2-6)</em&gt;. Dit artikel richt zich op de zuivering van Mama, die ondanks het feit dat onderzocht<em&gt; In vivo</em&gt;, Hebben geen duidelijke functionele of structurele details geïdentificeerd voor. Bio-informatica analyse suggereerde dat Mama is een tetra-tricopeptide herhalen (TPR) met eiwit.
