<p class="jove_content"> Wij presenteerden een roman, en waarschijnlijk de eerste, niet-farmacologische therapeutisch instrument in staat om de spieratrofie en de daling van de kracht die meestal bij patiënten met IBM gebeurt onder conventionele behandeling tegen te gaan. Weerstand opleiding met vasculaire occlusie is een relatief nieuwe trainingsmethode, maar de resultaten zijn zeer bemoedigend. We hebben gevonden dat na een 12-wk trainingsprogramma, een IBM-patiënt het been van druk op een-herhaling maximale, evenwicht en mobiliteit functie...

vascular occlusion training for inclusion body myositis: a novel therapeutic approach

<p class="jove_content">Inclusion body myositis (IBM) is een zeldzame idiopathische inflammatoire myopathie. Het is bekend dat levert opmerkelijke spierzwakte en sterk te compromissen functie en kwaliteit van het leven. Bovendien, de klinische praktijk blijkt dat, in tegenstelling tot andere inflammatoire myopathieën, de meerderheid van de IBM-patiënten niet reageren op behandeling met immunosuppressieve of immunomodulerende geneesmiddelen voor de progressie van de ziekte tegen te gaan<sup&gt; 1</sup&gt;. Daarnaast hebben de conventionele weerstand trainingen bewezen niet effectief in het herstellen van spierfunctie en spiermassa bij deze patiënten<sup&gt; 2,3</sup&gt;. Toch hebben we onlangs geconstateerd dat het beperken van de spieren de doorbloeding met behulp van tourniquet manchetten in samenwerking met een matige intensiteit weerstand opleiding in een IBM-patiënten een significante winst in spiermassa en-functie geproduceerd, samen met aanzienlijke voordelen in de kwaliteit van leven<sup&gt; 4</sup&gt;. Zo is een nieuwe niet-farmacologische aanpak voor IBM patiënten voorgesteld. Hierin beschrijven we de details van een voorgestelde protocol voor vasculaire occlusie geassocieerd met een weerstand trainingsprogramma voor deze populatie.</p>
