Parasiten wurden entwickelt, um Luciferase auszudrücken, und diese wurden in Mäuse eingeführt entweder intradermal oder intravenös. Quantitative Messungen der Luciferase treibende Biolumineszenz der transgenen<em&gt; Leishmania</em&gt; Parasiten in der Maus wurden mit IVIS.
