transurethral induction of mouse urinary tract infection

Uropathogenic bakteriestammar av intresse odlas på agar. Generellt uropathogenic<em&gt; E. coli</em&gt; (UPEC) och andra stammar kan odlas över natten på Luria-Bertani (LB) agar vid 37 ° C i luften. UPEC stammar växa som gulvita genomskinliga kolonier på LB agar. Efter bekräftelse av lämpliga koloni morfologi, är ensamstående kolonier sedan plockas som odlas i buljong. LB buljong kan användas till de flesta uropathogenic bakteriestammar. Två seriella, övernattning LB buljong kulturer kan användas för att öka uttrycket av typ I pili, en väldefinierad virulensfaktorn för uropathogenic bakterier. Buljong kulturer spädas till önskad koncentration i fosfatbuffrad saltlösning (PBS).
