Verschillende technieken van cardiale tissue engineering zijn gevoerd in de afgelopen decennia ook steigers strategieën door middel van een native of bioartificial scaffold materialen, entrapment van cardiale myocyten in hydrogels, zoals fibrine en collageen en stapelen van myocyte monolagen 1. Deze concepten zijn gericht op herstel van gecompromitteerde cardiale functie (bijvoorbeeld na een myocardinfarct) of als experimentele modellen (zoals voorspellende toxicologie en stof screening of ziekte modellering). Nauwkeurige controle van overleving van de cel na implantatie van technisch hartweefsel (EHT) is nu mogelijk met behulp van in-vivo bioluminescentie imaging (BLI) technieken 2. Hier beschrijven we de generatie van fibrine-gebaseerde EHT van een transgene rat stam met alomtegenwoordige uitdrukking van vuurvlieg luciferase (ROSA / luciferase-LEW Tg, 3). Implantatie wordt uitgevoerd in de grotere omentum van de verschillende stammen tot rat immuunrespons van het recipiënte organisme volgende EHT implantatie te beoordelen. Vergelijking van de resultaten gegenereerd door BLI en de Enzyme Linked Immuno Spot Techniek (ELISPOT) bevestigen de bruikbaarheid van BLI voor de beoordeling van immuunreacties.
