Noncontact retinal blodstrøm målinger er utført med en Fourier domene optisk koherens tomografi (OCT) system ved hjelp av en circumpapillary dobbel sirkulær scan (CDCS) som skanner rundt synsnerven hodet på 3,40 mm og 3,75 mm diameter. De doble konsentriske sirkler er utført seks ganger på rad i løpet av 2 sek. Den CDCS scan lagres med Doppler skift informasjon som flyter kan beregnes. Standarden klinisk protokoll krever 3 CDCS skanner laget med OCT strålen passerer gjennom superonasal kanten av eleven og 3 CDCS skanne gjennom inferonal elev. Denne dobbelt-vinkel protokollen sørger for at akseptabel Doppler vinkel oppnås på hver retinal gren fartøy i minst ett scan. De CDCS skannedata, en 3-dimensjonal volumetrisk oktober scan av den optiske disken scan, og en farge fotografi av den optiske disken brukes sammen for å oppnå retinal blodstrøm måling på et øye. Dette semi-automatisert programvare blir brukt til å måle total retinal blodstrøm, fartøy tverrsnittsareal, og gjennomsnittlig blod hastighet. Strømmen av hvert fartøy er beregnet fra Doppler-forskyvning i beholderen korset -tverrsnittsarealet og doppler vinkel mellom fartøyet og oktober strålen. Totalt retinal blodstrøm måling summert fra venene rundt den optiske disken. Resultatene oppnådd ved vårt Doppler oktober Reading Center viste god reproduserbarhet mellom sorteringsmaskiner og metoder (&lt;10% ). Totalt retinal blodstrøm kan være nyttige ved behandling av glaukom, andre retinal sykdommer og retinal sykdommer. i glaukom pasienter, ble oktober retinal blodstrøm måling høyt korrelert med synsfeltet tap (R 2&gt; 0,57 med synsfeltet mønster avvik) . Doppler oktober er en ny metode for å utføre raske, kontaktløs, og repeterbare målinger av total retinal blodstrøm med allment tilgjengelig Fourier-domenet oktober instrumentation. Den nye teknologien kan forbedre praktiske å gjøre disse målingene i kliniske studier og rutinemessig klinisk praksis.
