I denne protokol blev dyrene udsat for cykler af hypertermi i 90 minutter efterfulgt af en hvileperiode på 15 minutter. I denne periode mus har let adgang til mad og vand. Høj kropstemperatur spidser i musene i første hypertermi eksponering cyklusser forhindres ved immobilisering af dyret.
