Aangezien de isolatie van vet-afgeleide stromacellen 2 van lipoaspirate zijn deze cellen gedifferentieerd zijn in een grote verscheidenheid van cellulaire lijnen. Craniofaciale skelet herstel en regeneratie biedt de belofte van de novo weefselvorming door een cel benadering gebruik stamcellen. Vet-afgeleide stromale cellen (ASC&#39;s) hebben bewezen een rijke bron van multipotente stamcellen kunnen ondergaan osteogene, chondrogene, adipogene en myogene differentiatie. Vele studies hebben onderzocht de osteogene potentieel van deze cellen in vivo met gebruik van steigers verschillende biomaterialen voor cellulaire levering. Het is aangetoond dat door gebruik van een osteoconductief, hydroxyapatiet beklede poly (melkzuur-co-glycolzuur) (PLGA-HA) scaffold gezaaid met ASC, een kritische grootte calvarial defect, een defect dat wordt gedefinieerd door de onmogelijkheid om ondergaan spontane genezing gedurende de levensduur van het dier, kan effectief worden tonen robuuste ossale regeneratie. Dit in vivo model toont basis van translationele werkwijzen om het botweefsel regenereren - de cellulairecomponent en biologische matrix. Deze werkwijze dient als model voor de uiteindelijke klinische toepassing van een progenitor cel naar de reparatie van een specifiek weefsel defect.
