Både klinisk diagnose og grunnleggende undersøkelse av store okulære sykdommer stor nytte av ulike ikke-invasive ophthalmica imaging teknologi. Eksisterende retinal bildediagnostikk, for eksempel fundus en fotografering, confocal skanning laser ophthalmoscopy (cSLO) 2, og optisk koherens tomografi (OCT) 3, har betydelige bidrag i overvåkingen sykdom sykdomsangrep og progresjoner, og utvikle nye terapeutiske strategier. Men de hovedsakelig stole på back-reflekterte fotoner fra netthinnen. Som en konsekvens, de optiske absorpsjonsegenskaper av netthinnen, som vanligvis sterkt assosiert med retinal patofysiologien status, er utilgjengelige med de tradisjonelle imaging teknologi. Videre er det eneste eksisterende optisk absorpsjon-baserte ophthalmic imaging modalitet, kan PAOM bli integrert med godt etablert klinisk ophthalmic bildebehandling techniques å oppnå mer omfattende anatomiske og funksjonelle evalueringer av øyet basert på flere optiske kontraster 6,10. I dette arbeidet, integrerer vi PAOM og spektral-domene OCT (SD-OCT) for samtidig in vivo retinal avbildning av rotte, hvor både optisk absorpsjon og spredning egenskaper netthinnen blir avslørt.
