De auteurs hebben gebruikt capillaroscopy en onderarm doorbloeding technieken om de rol van microvasculaire dysfunctie te onderzoeken in de pathogenese van hart-en vaatziekten. Capillaroscopy is een niet-invasieve, relatief goedkope methode voor het direct visualiseren van de microcirculatie. Procent capillaire recruitment wordt beoordeeld door het toename capillaire dichtheid geïnduceerd door postocclusive reactieve hyperemie (postocclusive reactieve hyperemie capillaire dichtheid minus de baseline capillaire dichtheid), de maximale capillaire dichtheid (waargenomen tijdens passieve veneuze occlusie). Procent geperfuseerd capillairen vertegenwoordigt het aandeel van de capillairen aanwezig die geperfuseerd (functioneel actief) en wordt berekend door postocclusive reactieve hyperemie capillaire dichtheid door de maximale capillaire dichtheid. Beide procent capillaire rekrutering en het percentage perfusie haarvaten geven het aantal functionele capillairen. De onderarm doorbloeding (FBF) techniek provides geaccepteerde niet-invasieve maatregelen van de endotheelfunctie: De verhouding FBF max / FBF base wordt berekend als een schatting van vasodilatatie, door het gemiddelde van de vier FBF max waarden het gemiddelde van de vier FBF basiswaarden. Onderarm vasculaire weerstand bij maximale vaatverwijding (FVR max) wordt berekend als de gemiddelde arteriële druk (MAP) gedeeld door FBF max. Zowel de capillaroscopy en onderarm technieken zijn gemakkelijk aanvaardbaar voor patiënten en kan snel worden geleerd. De microvasculaire en endotheliale functie meet verkregen met behulp van de methoden beschreven in dit document kan in de toekomst nut in de klinische patiënt cardiovasculaire risico-reductie strategieën. Zoals we hebben rapporten gepubliceerd waaruit blijkt dat microvasculaire en endotheeldysfunctie zijn te vinden in de eerste stadia van hypertensie waaronder prehypertensie, kan microvasculaire en endotheliale functie maatregelen uiteindelijk helpen bij de vroegtijdige signalering, Risico-stratificatie en het voorkomen van het eindstadium van vasculaire pathologie, met zijn potentieel dodelijke gevolgen.

Verschillen in het uiterlijk van de microvasculatuur tussen normotensieve en hypertensieve individuen gemakkelijk duidelijk door vergelijking figuren 4 en 5.
