Dobutamin er en β-adrenerg agonist med en affinitet højere for receptor udtrykt i hjertet (β 1) end for receptorer udtrykt i arterierne (β 2). Når systemisk indgivet, øger hjertets behov. Således dobutamin afslører unormal rytme eller iskæmiske områder potentiel risiko for infarkt. Monitorering af hjertefunktion under en hjerte stress test kan udføres ved enten ecocardiography eller hjertekateterisation. Sidstnævnte er en invasiv men mere præcis og informative teknik, som det tidligere. Hjerte-stresstest induceret af dobutamin og overvåges af hjertekateterisation udføres som beskrevet her tillader i et enkelt forsøg, måling af følgende hæmodynamiske parametre: hjertefrekvens (HR), systolisk tryk, diastolisk tryk, slutdiastoliske tryk, maksimal positivt tryk udvikling (dP / Dtmax) og maksimal negativ presseUre udvikling (dP / dt min), ved baseline betingelser og under stigende doser af dobutamin. Som forventet i normale mus observerede vi en dobutamin dosisrelateret stigning i HR, dP / dt max og dP / dt min. Desuden ved den højeste testede dosis (12 ng / g / min) hjertedekompensation af højt fedtindhold kost-inducerede fede mus var afsløret.
