Metamaterials (MM), חומרים מלאכותיים מהונדסים בעלי תכונות שלא ניתן למצוא בטבע, נחקרו באופן נרחב מאז הפגנת 1 התיאורטית והניסיונית הראשונה 2 מתוך המאפיינים הייחודיים שלהם.
